vanven Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 I am headed down fro KC with the wife and 10 month old son for about 4 days of rest and relaxation in early late April or early May. The first couple nights will be in Eureka Springs to appease the wife, the second couple of nights will be more geared towards me wade fly fishing either the Little Red or Bull Shoals. I need some help finding a place with decent access to food/amenities while still being reasonably close to fishing for me. Maybe a bed and breakfast. It cant be the normal dive I would usually hole up in by myself. I could alse use some pointer for wade fishing access since this will be my first trip to the area. Thanks, Jerod
Terry Beeson Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 Jerod, There are LOTS of options here. If you are going to the Little Red, there are three places on the river that would be nice. Click here to look at them. I know Lindsey's is a good place and don't know a lot about the others, but they should be good as well. For BSD and Norfork tailwaters, there are a LOT of choices. Just depends on what you are looking for. White River Inn - Tell Moose I sent you His Place Resort Riverside Resort - Chris and Carol are great folks River Cliff Cabins - Tell Jimmy T I sent you... Rim Shoals - Gary Flippin can tell you minute by minute what's going on in the river at any point... LOL There are places in Mountain Home that will keep you close to both dams. Several restaurants to choose from there. But if you stay on the river, I think you and the family will enjoy it much more and you are not that far from good dining. As for wading, I like BSD, Wildcat, Rim Shoals on the White. Also nice wading in Cotter, but not on my favorites list. Norfork... Only two ways to go. Either up by the dam or at the Handicap Access. Great fishing at that spot. The dam area can be a bit crowded. Cody Smith Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 If your coming on down here to the LR, definately take advantage of the Lobo Landing Special Deal. Chris will take good care of you and your wife will feel like she is at home in there luxury cabins. Ruffing it does not even come to mind in regards to the cabins. Another benefit of Lobo is location, your less than 3 min. drive to Libby Shoals, a walk in wade access point or you could rent a boat to get you down to Mossy and several other shoals on the Little Red. If you decide Heber Springs and The Little Red is where your going to end up, shoot me a PM and I'll do my very best to take care of any question's you may have regarding our area. Mike Davis Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 Lobo Landing is good. Lindsey's is another good one. Either place would take good care of you and both have their own strong points. If you decide to check out Lobo .. look out for his 100 pound dock rat. It's a yellow Lab named Odie that is probably the biggest knuckle-head of a dog you'll ever meet. There probably isn't much for hotel spaces right now if that's the type place you'd be looking for. Gas workers have about every room taken up. There is a good Bed and Breakfast .. The Abbe House .. with good access to everything. Mike I went to buy batteries but they weren't included. Steven Wright
