Lets here some thoughts on the MDC's electro shocking program, I know how I feel about it, but lets heat what everyone else thinks. I am speaking mainly of the walleye shocking program in the river arms.

I am not familiar with the Walleye River program. However, on the Lake I can't figure any other method they could use to make a study of fish populations.

I have had the unpleasant experience to be fishing in a TR cove in the Spring and had their boat come into the cove and shock the entire bank. Needless to say, I exited the cove as continued fishing was pointless.

For those like myself who aren't aware of the Walleye River shocking program, what exactly is MDC doing that has folks bothered and questioning their methods ? Thanks.

I've gone out with MDC before when they electro fished for trout....Its probably the best way to gather population and growth data for a river fishery. Electro fishing does hose up the fishing for a couple hours, but you would be surprised at how fast those fish recovered...I know nothing about the status of the Walleye program, but hopefully the data they are gathering is providing some benefits to the fishery. Cheers.

How do I deal with those who ignore the 50 yard encroachment rule?......I show them just how accurate I am with a crank bait! rtj4bb.gif
