Ham Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 I had the pleasure of making a quick trip to Lake Norfork with Larry Richards yesterday. Larry was kind enough to help me with some of the finer points of throwing a jerkbait at Norfork bass. We only fished about 4 hours and caught about 20 bass between us with a lot of short strikes. The last 90 minutes or so was very slow. I'm confident we were on fish, but they just didn't want to play. There is a pretty heavy shad kill going on mid lake in the clearer water which I think gives the fish too many easy options to fool very many of then with junk. We found some stained water up lake and the bites were plentiful. I'm sure a Wart would have caught some of these same fish, but all we both threw jerkbaits only the whole time. Match the jerkbait color to water color and/or if you weren't getting bit, it's time to change. Larry knows his stuff and was a lot of fun to fish with as well. I hope we can go again soon. Thanks Larry! Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
