Members DoctaJ Posted April 3, 2009 Members Posted April 3, 2009 Going down to the Rock end of this month and have never fished it. I've heard a few things. I've heard the lake is deep and clear, which I'm use to. I'm from KY and all we have in the north eastern part is mountain resevoirs. I was told at Table Rock I need to down size my fishing line. I was also told that fish doctor and centipedes pretty much ruled in watermelon/red and green pumpkin. Am I hearing right? I saw the reports say jerk baits are working now but my experience with hard lures is that the bite is either on or off. Anyone use creature baits on this lake? Any info to help me better prepare would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
gabe Posted April 3, 2009 Posted April 3, 2009 DoctaJ: Check out the numerous fishing reports posted almost daily. There should be more than enough info to help you catch fish on The Rock. Good luck.
smallmouthjoe Posted April 3, 2009 Posted April 3, 2009 You can't go wrong with soft plastics and light line on Table Rock.

Thanks! doctaj This time of the year should be awsome, the bass will be on the bed and off the bed . early bird gets the worm the top half of what u said works good, but the Fluke is awsome for me as is the spinner bait , hope this helps but don't tell know one about the fluke
motoman Posted April 3, 2009 Posted April 3, 2009 After my painful butt kickin' I got by The Rock last week, I probably outta keep my mouth shut. Hopefully it was just the weather that dealt me fits, and I'm not losing my touch. Anywho........... - I love throwing any finesse stuff at The Rock, and 8lb test is as heavy as I like. I think the jerkbite may be dwindling by then, as the water temps will be up? (but I'm no jerkbait expert) - Gabe hit the nail on the head, check the boards here just before you leave for a more accuarate update on what's happening.
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted April 3, 2009 Root Admin Posted April 3, 2009 If you need a good Chiro-Doc while you're in town, see Dr. Scott Gamm. He's a very good friend and he works for fishing time instead of money
