Does anyone local know what the issue is with the courtesy dock at Baxter? If the COE needs $ and would allow us to contribute, I would be first in line. Love the ramp, but frequently too much wind and too many rocks to get in and out comfortably with my 521 absent a boat dock.

I have to disagree. Just my belief, I think with either the $4.00 launch fee and or $30.oo annual fee plus I am sure the government also takes our tax dollars for recreational facillities. I think we pay plenty of money and the COE needs to have more complaints and get off their behinds and take care of these docks where we launch at, as i do understand a lot of these fibreglass boats we have are very expensive and I as one do not like having to put my boat on the rocks or gravel just to get in or out of my boat, my wife agrees.

I noticed about 3 weeks ago they were working on the docks at Joe Bald. couldnt tell if they were putting in new ones or taking out the old ones. Thought it strange since that parki s closed. Also Mill creek ramp is a mess, you can break an axel in those holes. they are working on the rest of the park just not the ramp area. If they are going to charge they ought to be usable.

I put in there one day as they were working on a new dock they said they would have it fixed. while they were working on it that ramp was closed. Well i was there yesterday  no dock at all what happend to the new one?

IMO, if the truth be known it may be budget time drawing near...they may be scrambling to spend money in the fear they will not recieve the same monies next year if they don't totally use what's in the budget for this year.

It's really hard to know what goes on behing the scenes. Maybe I'm wrong but would not surprise me in the least if the 'Good Ole Boy Network' and the cronies of the big wigs with the ONSR have something up their sleeve concerning the lead ban. Could it be possible that some big cheese's brother, brother in law, whomever has an alternative just waiting in the wings for this ban...don't know about most of you but these type things don't suprise me in the least.

I may be totally off base on this just saying could it be a possibility?? JMHO

What does the lead ban have to do with courtesy docks? I have been out of town for a few days... did I miss something?

Well I have to agree that it's all about money. If it still works then take off one man and try it again. Keep doing this until it doesn't work then put one man back on. Then when you have high water conditions like last yeat the COE is not prepared to handle it so they trudge along making repairs while we fidget .
