Members Trolling 4 Walleye Posted April 15, 2009 Members Posted April 15, 2009 I just read about this http://shellknobshrineclub.com/ anyway.. i'm planning on fishing that weekend in the shell knob area, but i have no interest in this tourney. I just wondered how many boats i might expect in this tourney (is it going to jam up the launch ramp?) and where these guys will generally go fish so i can avoid those areas.
focused fishing Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Haven't fished it but I here it is a pretty big event. Out of Campbell Point and their regatta is for 100 boats (may not mean anything). I would suspect that spots from Baxter to Big M will be pretty covered up if they draw that many. Good Luck EP thanks for the input. i'm glad it's out of campbell point... i launch next to the shell knob bridge and was worried that launch ramp might be slammed. last year based on the website it looks like they had 66 boats.... that's plenty. I guess i'll just have to deal with teh crowd... are tourneys like that generally all day? both sat. and sun? Boat is on Table Rock Lake near Shell Knob, MO
Members Trolling For Walleye Posted April 15, 2009 Members Posted April 15, 2009 oh.. also. what does "their regatta is for 100 boats" mean? Boat is on Table Rock Lake near Shell Knob, MO
techo Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 In order to hold a tournament on Table Rock, you have to get a regatta permit and say how many boats you intend to have. They have a permit for 100 boats. I think AIA, CPA and Heartland generally lean toward a higher count than they actually have to be on the safe side. Tim Carpenter
focused fishing Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 The Shriners have two Regatta a 25 boat for Friday and the 100 boat for Saturday, nothing for Sunday so it looks to be a one day tournament. If you unfamilar with the Regatta search follow this link to the MO Water Patrol site: http://www.mswp.dps.mo.gov/ Then hit the Regatta button at the top of the page, you can search by month and body of water. Members Trolling 4 Walleye Posted April 15, 2009 Author Members Posted April 15, 2009 The way I read it the Shell Knob Shrine club has 100 boats coming out of campbell point on saturday, and another 25 out of kings river marina on 4/25, and the same on sunday 4/26. So it appears to be a 125 boat tournament for 2 days. I think you misread that Eric. Thanks for teaching me how to search that though.. that's great information.
champ187xr6 Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 It was down (boat count) last year due to the high water. If it looks to be decent weather they will have 100+ boats.
