Tightline Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 I got to the Pothole about 5:00 pm thursday evening.wanting to maybe catch some post spawn Wallys. Went over to the River Run side just to look and see if I could wade at all. I managed to get out far enough to just barely reach the gravel bars in front of where people park with a good long cast. I had the best 3 hours of White bass fishing I have had in a long time,I won't even give numbers because you wouldn't believe it. Released all, but 7 smaller males which I took home to eat The boats had something corraled up above the rock pile, both thursday evening and friday mourning there were 6-8 boats there all the time.I wonder if its wallys their catching. CAUTION: The water is very swift, once it about washed my feet out from under me,so I backed up.The water is rising and is now probably not fishable at all from the River Run side without a boat. tho1mas 1
trythisonemv Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 how do you get to the pothole? im really gonna try the fly fishing for whites and wallys this spring and i have been to the dam down ther but never to the pothole.
motroutbum Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 The pot hole is directly below the dam. There are two types of people. Those who dream dreams and wish, then there are the do'ers. I am a do'er!
Wayne SW/MO Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 Was the road to the powerhouse dry? Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Moswimb8slinger Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 I was there last night, the highest bump from old road was peaking out but water was still runing over the road
Moswimb8slinger Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 Didn't catch anything, just trying out this "swimbaits for walleye" idea using 5-8 inch shad and rainbow colored baits
vonreed Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 Didn't catch anything, just trying out this "swimbaits for walleye" idea using 5-8 inch shad and rainbow colored baits Well at least the fishing has been consistent. I've been twice and not had a bite.
navery Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 Went this weekend and struggled. Water temp at dam was 47. They are running alot of water through the turbines and over the flood gates. Not even a bite. Went to the mouth of swan and caught a big sow white bass full of eggs, but that's it. Only caught one small male in beaver. Water temp in swan and beaver creek was 65.Sunday went down to K dock and only caught one 13" crappie. I must be doing wrong. Any help would be appreciated! Good luck
