Members single spin Posted April 26, 2009 Members Posted April 26, 2009 I have tried to fish a floating worm in the past with no luck. Does anybody know when this bite starts, or for that matter how to actually fish the thing?
Members Allen R. Posted April 26, 2009 Members Posted April 26, 2009 I think I've always heard that it was a good post spawn technique. I dunno if you count a Senko as a floating worm, but you can fish those from Spring on til the end of the season. I personally like to fish floating Zoom trickworms in weed beds in the summer. The way I fish mine is I cast it out and give it a couple of twitches and let it fall about 1 to 2 feet down then twitch it back to the top. I've also had some good success with fishing it on a spinning reel with a swivel and fishing it with an erratic jerking retrieve.
Ham Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 The traditional floating worm deal is a post spawn bait. You can certainly tweak things and fish it earlier than that. Floating worms are also thrown on Shakey Heads a lot. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
