Yes, MO MO was the term used for what was described as being a sasquatch or whatever you want to call it, when I was on staff at a scout camp in the Ozarks in the 80's. Never saw him or her, but the reports were frequent enough to make you think twice.

So, So freaky! Thats one of my worst nightmares having something or one unidentified at camp in the middle of the night.

One night at Buck Hollow on Jacks Fork while sleeping in my car before the morning put-in, I awoke for an unknown reason. I then noticed a small red dot of light about six feet off the ground floating towards my car in the darkness. I thought I was seeing things. Then a very soft sound of gravel crunching made me realize what it was. I popped out of my car with a huge machete and high powered flash light in hand. The Night Vision Wearing Bandit was stunned, stumbled and ran like hell back to his car. My adrenaline was pumping. I sat up for 3 more hours before dawn. No sleep for me that night.

Light is your best friend for those situations. An intruder even without night vision goggles will have their eyes naturally adjusted to the darkness and you can blind them and save your loaf of bread. If they attack, turn it off and flee or fight.

I'm wondering if the sound of two feet running was the loaf of bread bouncing down the trail in the raccoons mouth? :P

Hey csfihinfool, Wild story, not knowing what it was would bother me for a while. My wife and I (girlfriend then) and a bunch of friends were on an overnight float on the Current back in the day, back when I was always lacking folding money. My idea of lodging was a big poly tarp folded and staked to form a lean to. In the dead of night my buddies Aussie shepard ran a critter right over her and I in our sleeping bags. She refused to go camping with me again until I provided decent overnight accomodations. I still have that Timberline tent.
