Members DoctaJ Posted April 27, 2009 Members Posted April 27, 2009 Hey Guys and Gals, thanks for all the help. It was an exhausting weekend but fun. I stayed at Kimberling city campground on Wednesday and Thursday. I was too lazy to pitch a tent so I slept in the bed of my truck. Thursday was rough fishing. The wind was horrible in my little 15ft Astroglass. I managed somehow to make it to Goar Creek (I believe that's what it's called) to get out of the wind. Found some shad pop'n in the cove and caught one keeper and 2 shorts. But that was it. I saw some fish on the beds and some cruisers. The large mouth were shallow or hanging close to the shallows. Friday morning was awesome for me. Didn't catch a lot of fish, but good quality. Here are the pics, again I was down in Goar creek. I saw of lot of guys running back to the ends of the creeks. Stayed at Big Cedar Friday night and Saturday night with the Bass Pro guys. We fished the bass pro employee tournament. It was lots of fun, but not a true tournament. People could fish from the bank and use live bait if they wanted. Jim and I prefished Saturday. We ran up to Indian and picked up some shorts. Lots of bedding bass and cruisers in the coves off the creeks. He ran down to Arkansas. The water is really dirty but we managed two keepers. Overall, tough day for fishing. Sunday was better. Jim and I were in different boats for the tourny. My partner Brian picked up a nice bass in Brush creek in a cove but the line snapped on him. When it came out of the water, lets just say it was a nice one. He was so sick after that. Then I picked up on comming out of the cove on a accent scooter jig with a baby creature as the trailer. It weighed in at 4.2lbs. Jim caught one on a spinnerbait that was 4.9bls. He won 4th place big bass. Big bass for the day was 7.9lbs. She was a hog. I heard him and his friends talking that his purple spinnerbait was awesome today especially in the shallows. Overall, if you want the largemouth bass, I think you need to be in the coves off the creeks. Jig in the morning, spinnerbait during the day with this wind. The fish are shallow for sure so fishing deep points for large mouth was unproductive for me. Mostly males on the beds so the females are just off a little deeper close by cruising back and forth. I don't know what this front comming in is going to do to them though. Lots of rain predicted for sure. The rock was a good experience but a tough lake for someone that's never been on it. It's not my favorite but it will def grow on me. Beautiful lake and beautiful fish. Oh, and don't worry, they are all back in the lake for you all to catch! =)

Members zzjonze Posted April 28, 2009 Members Posted April 28, 2009 Really Nice fish DoctaJ. I fished in the rain all day yesterday at LOZ. Had 8 or 9 Keepers, weighed in 14.99 pounds. Fish were caught on flukes and getzits. ZZ
