dtrs5kprs Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 Can the fin bite be an all day deal this time of year? I have caught them well into the afternoon on cloudy/rainy days, or when they were chasing bait, but am wondering if there is a window where it will act like the occasional all day spook bite.
techo Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 I love the red fin! I have one tied on almost all of the time. If the fish are splashing around, I cast past them and reel through....almost always get something. In the late morning and early afternoon, I reel it over trees and sometimes get bit. I guess to make the answer shorter....in the spring and early summer, I have caught fish almost any hour of the day on red fins. I have never managed to get a huge fish on a red fin though. dtrs5kprs Posted May 4, 2009 Author Posted May 4, 2009 Thanks, T. Seems like when I throw one everything usually goes bluebird with a hole straight thru the ozone layer over my boat.
