Anyone fish the Meramec in Fenton near 44/Soccer Park/Fenton City Park? If so, what can you expect there. I am going to be working right around there this summer and am looking for a place to fish near by so if you know any other good spots I'd love to hear them.

Crappie, largemouth bass, kentucky bass, walleye, a few stray smallmouths, sunfish, channel cats, flathead cats, a few white bass, and lots of muddy to olive colored water. That should sum it up. Route 66 State Park near Eureka is probably your best access point.

I believe you can get access at Fenton city Park as well. I would guess you would find most of the same species.

I'd recommend a motor boat if you want to fish the river, but there are a couple lakes around there..Simpson Lake in Valley Park, Unger Park Lake (behind the Soccer Park), Fabick Lakes up the hill from Fenton City Park. Cheers.

There is a conservation access on Marshal Road in Valley Park. I used to catch alot of good whites bass when they were spawning just above 141 on the gravel shoals. If yous area going to use a boat put in at George Winter Park in Fenton off of Old 141. Caught lots of good everything there.

I've fished Fabick a couple of times with very little success. Have you fished Unger or Simpson.

Havent fished Unger in awhile, caught a lot of crappie and some LMB in there before, same with Simpson but I usually take a canoe out to Simpson. Both flood at times so you can catch anything that swims in them. Fabick holds some small bass and sunfish for the most part..I usually just walk the banks and fish anything that looks like structure or fish off the dam with a fly rod. The catch & release lakes at Busch usually have more fish in them. Cheers.

Will you be using a boat?
