Fly_Guy Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 I'm in! If I'm gonna start a topic on the evils of cigarette butt trash, I'd better be at clean-up day. June 13th, 10 am.
Kansas Fly Fisher Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 I should be able to make it. The calender is clear for Friday and Saturday. I'll check with the boss and make sure she doesn't have any other plans and will let you know for sure. John Born to Fish, Forced to Work KSMEDIC.COM
Zack Hoyt Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 If we were not having our Reel Recovery Day on Beaver that Saturday, I would swing up there. Best of luck and take plenty of pics. Zack Hoyt OAF Contributor Flies, Lies, and Other Diversions
Members Captain Steve Posted June 3, 2009 Members Posted June 3, 2009 Good call !!!!!! I'll be there.
Fly_Guy Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 It was good to meet everyone at the clean-up. Oh wait... maybe it was just me that was there... guess it's easier to complain about trash than pick it up. Got lots of line, glass, and after a while stopped picking up the cigarette butts - losing battle. Only kept at it for 30 min or so. At least the fishing was good. Here's some advice - when the sun comes up and the scud bite dies, throw tiny black ants (around #20 or #22). I caught probably 15 on dries today, including a brown, and four rainbows that were easily over 18". Good day. Big trout like tiny black flies. And dries are a lot more fun! At least today they were.
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted June 14, 2009 Author Root Admin Posted June 14, 2009 Clint was at the shelter from 10-10:20 am Saturday but didn't see anyone. He left some bags on the table there under a rock for anyone who came by. He called me- we were still in Minneapolis waiting on our flight home. Thanks for the help though. Sorry you didn't meet with them them. Next time I'll be more organized and actually HERE for it.
