I have also been told by a very good source that the Tuna Tubs can be held responsable for there wakes. With the new Marina at Cape Fair the boats have showed up in a big way it's bad had a 45fter here last sunday, I have a 518 ranger and was fishing a ledge when he come by the 1st wake lifted me out of the water I broke over the 2nd and was swamped by the 3rd. Something needs to be done soon about the sizes of these tubs

I was at Cape Fair yesterday and saw one of the BIG cruisers down there yesterday. First time I'd seen a boat that big down there. Fat boy is right. With the new marina there will be more of them down there. We all wish the lawmakers would do something about this like make a size restriction for these area lakes. However, I don't know that it will ever happen. Unfortunately it usually takes blood and or tons of property damage to get things like that done. I have no doupt there is property damage and every year there are some crashes and mishaps with the big boats, just not to the degree to grab lawmakers attention. Another thing is money. We all know it talks and those vessels made for oceans and brought to our lakes bring in the bucks. The big marina owners love renting a slip to one of those monters and love it even more when they get to pump 500 gallons of gas into one. I hate everything about them and wish they were gone. I grew up skiing and using the water for recreation, so I don't mind sharing the water with recreational boaters (even jet skiers most of the time). A vessel made for coastal and bigger waters has no place on an inland lake like the rock. They are a hazard to everyone around them. I just really don't know what can be done. Maybe we could hire some pirates from Somalia to come hijack a few.

I am pretty sure inorder to make a change in the law. It will take several of us going to a meeting in Jefferson City. My job requires two months notice for days off. I was just going to quit my regular job and just fish for a livin....my wife said, "NO".

Sure did enjoy fishn the upper james arm this morning. Seen 3 boats. Talked 15 bass into giving up, caught enough perch to bait 50 hooks and the only wake I saw was from my boat when I made a circle. If anyone decides to fish higher up tomorrow it ought to be good fishn and relaxing.

Alot of the wakes at LOZ are so steep, if you go down into them you can't see out. I troll the Niangua arm in the summer for walleye and you definitely have to be out of there by about 10:30. The waves aren't real bad, but there are so many boats running it is kind of scary. There are people going every which way and it appears none of them no what to do when they meet another boater.

Sat on my dock at Kimberling city on Saturday and just watched water patrol go back and forth stopping people. Saw them get one waverunner that was running up on people. Pretty good stuff, I definitely wished I would have chose that field of law enforcement.

The scary part about the big cruisers is how many people operate them that really shouldn't be. I was sitting on the humps near point seven and a large cruiser came by, throwing at least a 4 foot wake. Shortly after passing, it appeared to trim down and lifted, the wake size was cut in half. People need to understand boat mechanics. Trim down less wake.

We talk about all the big money going into the system down there, but the majority if not all the people who own these big boats are only there for the summer. What about us fisherman who are there year around supporting the municiplaties and businesses.

I totally agree with you all, those tubs aren't borderline dangerous, they are dangersous!! In my humble opinion a fairly narrow and winding lake like Table Rock is no place for those things, simply due to the fact that they are very limited on where they can safely go. I just don't want to see The Rock turn into LOZ, that place to me is nearly unfishable and a total irritation to me in the summer!! Also, I don't know where these people learned to opperate these monstrosities, but you'd think if they have enough jack to buy one of those boats that they could surely afford to mix in a safety course or 2 LOL!! I agree with you though Tom, MONEY TALKS and thats the end of that, just keep hoping nothing terribly tragic happens at the hands of one of these outfits!!
