Forsythian Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 A year or two ago I had heard a tale about a small resort on Stockton that featured a boat dock, and that was also near a small golf course. He had said that the resort was close enough to the course you could drive a golf cart back and forth to it. I figured somebody here might have some current information about this... sounds ideal for the family. Thanks! Cenosillicaphobiac

I have never stayed there as I don't golf. I found contact information on the Stockton Chamber of Commerce website. It is south of Stockton a few miles. Thompson Fishing Guide Service Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 Yes, sounds like Cedar Oaks. It was foreclosed on, and is now under new ownership and mangement. Gerri and Bob are the managers and lovely people. The goal is to get their lounge and restaurant up and running as well as the pool and the 9 hole golf course...not sure how far along they are. I think they had a request in to the Corps for improvements to the private boat dock. Haven't checked in with them for awhile, but in April, members of Fishers of Men bass tournament stayed there. The rooms were $37 per night; clean, modest and adequate. Check them out. Marty Thompson Thompson Fishing Guide Service www.fishstockton.com 417-424-BASS Often imitated, never duplicated.
