Buzz Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 A friend of mine told me about this new resort east of Joplin off of I-44, so I checked it out. The website touts it as S.W. Missouri's new premier trout fishing destination. You be the judge. Don't forget to check out the pricing. I'd be interested in your thoughts on this. You will probably have to copy and paste: www.jenkinscreekresort.com Buzz If fishing was easy it would be called catching.
Danoinark Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 Good grief that's expensive all around. I am just not a big fan of pay for play fishing spots stocked by the owners. Camping is out of site and cabin rentals are way out of line as far as I am concerned. It sure is a pretty place and the creek looks nice, but I bet I could have as much fun at the NF of the White, Crane, RR or one of the wild trout destinations in Mo . Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted June 19, 2009 Root Admin Posted June 19, 2009 Wish them the best. Just not my cup of tea.
flyfishmaster Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 I think they need to invest in a better web page or designer. later, FFM Woo Hoo Fish On!!
ozarkgunner Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 Wish them the best. Just not my cup of tea. WOW--- the rod fee is close to that of GOOD places to fish out west. Angler At Law
OKFlyFisher44 Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 You've got to be kidding me...are these people for real? There's no way in heck I'd ever pay that kind of money for a place like that. That's ridiculous. $120 A NIGHT FOR CAMPING! You could go fish somewhere in the Rockies for a couple of days with a guide and a place to stay cheaper than that I would bet! That's just...wow...I'm speechless... I mean...is this for real?! Chance ...I'm haunted in my dreams of waters I have yet to fish and trout I have yet to catch... Chasing the Dream...
Kansas Fly Fisher Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 I echo all the other comments - WOW! They must be really proud of their place. I hope they do well, but it's not for me. I'll take my money and spend it in one of the fly shops near Taney, RR, Bennett, etc. John Born to Fish, Forced to Work KSMEDIC.COM
Zack Hoyt Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 Sometimes you just have to set back and grin. When I want to catch stockers, I head to Roaring River or Braver. That place wont be around for long with $120 tent fees. Zack Hoyt OAF Contributor Flies, Lies, and Other Diversions
Members JONBOY Posted June 19, 2009 Members Posted June 19, 2009 See place like that are for the people from the big cities that have never seen a trout before... or dirt. And the sad part is that people will pay to go there and think its cheap, compared to where they live. Novice Fly fisher.
denjac Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 I think they are way out of line on there prices . Wonder if thats where the boys got in trouble at?? Dennis Boothe Joplin Mo.
