From Jasper, take 74 West and keep an eye out for the signs. You should be turning North off 74 onto a dirt road(unless they have paved since I been there last).

65 south to Harrison, 7 from Harrison to Jasper, 74 toward Ponca as zhoyt says watch for signs if you get to steel creek turnoff you went too far. If you are floating I would suggest going lower, perhaps Pruitt to Carver as the water is falling fast on the upper end, just came off 3 days on the river.

I have to agree with Griz, water might be a tad low there. Give the BOC or one of the outiftters a call on Thursday to see how water is. Doesnt look like any rain is forcast, but here in Pea Ridge we got a great shower last night, so you never know what might effect the water.

I'm really looking for a good spot to camp and wade the river. One of my buddies said that Kyle's Landing was the best spot that he knew of for that. What do you guys think? I have no experience on the Buffalo and I'm very open to suggestions.

I also just got back from river. we were on the lower end and the water was falling fast when we left. I think it was about 3.5-4 when we left. I hear it gets really low that far up. might want to try middle river, or if you just want to tent camp and wade fish try buffalo point. maybe this will help.

if you want to cast at wet gravel go ahead and go to kyles!! ...(but there isn't any water up there.) i would be looking a carver, or woolum .. but, hey it's just me! the big pools of water aren't holding any fish,( about the only thing working is moving water.) and it's all down stream. and the late afternoon is best of all !! the campground fill fast friday.

O.K. I can see from looking at my atlas that in order to get to carver I need to take 65 south of Harrison then take 123 southwest until I hit the river. Is that about right? Will there be signs to follow once I get to that point?

I was at Kyles last yesterday afternoon. River is too low to float there. You could still find some deep pools that might hold some fish up river from the first canoe launch.

As for Carver you have the directions right. When you get to Western Grove take 123 to the right and it will take you to Carver. You could also go to Hasty just up the road to the right from Carver.
