Members JONBOY Posted June 30, 2009 Members Posted June 30, 2009 Are there any pics of the pattern you guys are talking about... Because the link above looks like a different pattern from the explanation. Thanks. Novice Fly fisher.
timsfly Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 I remember leonard showing me that pattern years before Michael started fishing it around here. Tim Homesley 23387 st. hwy 112 Cassville, Mo 65625 Roaring River State park Tim's Fly Shop www.missouritrout.com/timsflyshop
Dave Cook Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 You can also see it at http://lilleystacklestore.com/xcart/produc...at=0&page=1 If you are going to tie it, it helps to have an original in hand. You know, Leonard sightings are about as often as the Giant TaneycomoToruist Eating Squid. Hmmmm.. When was the last time anyone ran into that squid? Micheal Kyle Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 I remember leonard showing me that pattern years before Michael started fishing it around here. Are there really any new flies out there or just modifications of old flies or maybe there are just old flies that have been forgotten then someone ties something and bam there is is again. fly2fish Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 You know, Leonard sightings are about as often as the Giant TaneycomoToruist Eating Squid. Hmmmm.. When was the last time anyone ran into that squid? One thing for sure you won't see him when it is lightening, the last time I saw him it started lightening and he was heading home with his big flathead (catfish that is) . Also, he is scarce when the beavers are roaming around. F2F
Flysmallie Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 Who came up with the idea first.... Leaonard or BackCountry Outfitters? Actually it was me but Leonard nor Michael will ever admit to that I know the first one I saw came from Leonard and I love it. Great little fly for trout and smallmouth. I like the idea of tying it bigger with rabbit. That would be great for smallmouth. I haven't been thrown out of Backcountry Outfitters in awhile. Guess I'll have to head over and buy some supplies. Consider that your warning Michael. Now which one of you guys is going to take me night fishing at Taney? Â Â
Micheal Kyle Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 Thanks for the warning, and great idea coming at the first of the month Mr. Beeson will not see it on his CC for 30 days and he will think he bought it To Know People Is To Know Thier Ways!
Zack Hoyt Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 I like the idea of tying it bigger with rabbit. That would be great for smallmouth. I said the exact same thing when I first saw it and have been playing with some different looks with good success. It moves greatly under water and will slay in moving water.
