Members bajacoop Posted July 11, 2009 Members Posted July 11, 2009 Anyone been fishing below the dam? Hoping to go next weekend. Gonna catfish if they are running water and if not will try to thin out some asian carp with the bow.
Predator1 Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 I hope they are generating this weekend too. I was thinking about the same thing this weekend. My fishing partner caught 120 cats 4th of july weekend when it was nice and cool. The largest was a 22lb blue. I am calling the toll free number to check on the generation. I just called that number 866-494-1993. That did me know good. No report. Makes me wonder if they will release. I live in Springfield, so it is a long drive for me to go if they are not generating.
Members bajacoop Posted July 17, 2009 Author Members Posted July 17, 2009 they are not generating much. you can check it online at http://waterdata.usgs.gov/mo/nwis/current?..._no_station_nm= I am really wanting to go up tomorrow and maybe do some bowfishing and catfishing but have not had much luck finding someone to go with me.

Good luck. I'm normally game to go to Bagnell, but I'm moving back to Springfield in 2 hours. Thanks for all of your reports, they have helped me out a bunch over the past year. Tight lines. Predator1 Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 Thanks, I needed that. I did not go to Bagnell this past weekend. Went to stockton, ran jugs and trotlines. Not much luck there. Caught 3 channels bout 2lbs each and a water moccason. I saw one jug heading up the rock bank on land. Sped my boat over there to see what kind of fish had legs now Got there and it was a 3 1/2 foot Water Moccason. He had that 5"Bluegill's head in his mouth. I got the jug and the blue gill back. Did not harm the snake but it was fun to video it. If any of you are running anykind of lines.....be careful, could be a big snake on that hook.

July 21-25 These dates are the dates I fished Bagnell Dam tailwaters, and I caught my limit a couple days, hybrids and white bass, biggest in the 25" range, I guess you all are cat fishers, and don't like white meat! I had a blast, bent my rod repeatedly. LMJ
podum Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 Further information please. Bank or boat? What are they hitting? I'm heading that way in two weeks. That Wiper is a bruiser. Congrats. I wish I had more time more than I wish I had more money.

I love eating those things, but usually don't fish for them until the dead of winter and at the MariOsa access since it's only 30 minutes away and Bagnell is 1.5 hours away. That makes me want to come up and try it out though.
