bigredbirdfan Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 I would think that if your removing burning (smoke) that the cancer risk would be lower. Now the nicotine remains and is associated with heart disease. I would think lowering the cancer would be worth an elevated heart rate. IMO. I just wondering how this will do in the rain each weekend on Taneycomo. The biggest risk might be shock.
KCRIVERRAT Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 Just added the website to my "favorites list". Makes me nervous to think about quitting. Better head to the deck for a smoke! HUMAN RELATIONS MANAGER @ OZARK FISHING EXPEDITIONS
Members nitro_fish Posted July 31, 2009 Members Posted July 31, 2009 I have smoked 2 packs per day for the last 25 years. Tried many times to quit without any success. My doctor gave me RX for Chantix pills. I havent had a smoke in 2 weeks and have had zero withdraw feelings. To me it is a wonder drug.

Writing this now really makes me want a smoke.
Andy & JoAnne Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 OK, I'll be the lab rat for this one. I am going to go ahead and order it. As soon as I receive it I will use it for a day or two and report back. Its worth the risks.

(assuming you don't mind sharing that info) I would really like to quit to save my voice (among other anotomical symmetries) cricket.c21.com

To me its worth the money. I paid 125.00 for a month supply. It seems expensive till you figure 2 packs of smokes per day is close to or more than 150.00 per month. I tried the patch and the gum. Both help in reducing smoking. But the nicotine addiction is still there. This medicine blocks off the feeling that you need a smoke.

I'd feel much better about getting one if I had the opinion of someone who's tried it.

That would prolly work (cause nothing else has ever made me want to walk away from them) old enough now to realize how cool they aren't.. Time to quit? I'll call my doctor on monday.. Thanks for the advice. cricket.c21.com
