Sunday I was up on TR. I put in at viney, fished down river some and caught a bunch drop shotting. Nothing big. Lots of boat trafic. Went up by Roring River, not neer as much boat trafic, caught a few and a couple keepers. Headed back to Viney ramp and as I came around the bend at Big M boats were just sitting in the water. A water patrol was slowing every one down. An ambulance and fire truck was on the bank and another patrol boat was there. I idled over to a pontoon boat and asked what happened. They said a guy on a jet ski had gotten hit by a boat. About 10 minutes later a helicopter came in and flew him out.

I have watched the news and haven't heard anything obout it. I hope the guy is o.k. It doesn't surprise me. There were three jet skis in that area cris crossing wakes and buzing every where. I don't know if it was one of them or not. Are there any laws about how close to a boat a jet ski can get? It might not have even been the jet skiers fault seeing the way some of the boats were being handled. Some people act like they are the only ones on the lake.

Becky, I like you hope it all works out for the best. The area from Big M, to Campbell Point has just flat gotten out of hand in the last several years with not only large boat traffic but crazy water fleas. ie jet skis.

I would hope the Water Patrol would start to put an extreme eye on this area of Table Rock Lake, as it is one of the Major traffic areas in the skinnest waters that we have here on the rock.

It seems this has happened over night, but I have been posting on it for the last several years.

Our lodge is just around from point 2 and we also have a cabin at point 22 on the White. The point 2 area with Branson and all its traffic on larger water is by far calmer than our home at the Knob, on its narrower water. We have no where the boat size in the dam area that they do from Big M to Baxter, on a consistant basis.

The accident does not suprise anyone that is on the water there on a daily basis.

We only prey for there recovery and good health.

I was leaving out of viney creek on Sunday. I took my dad and my two 14 year old sons there last Thursday - Sunday. I had never camped there before, we had a great campsite right on that bluff across from Big M, we would just sit in our chairs and watch all the lake traffic in amazement. Some of those boats would pull skiers and tubers so close to that bluff wall right by the tree line.

We would go out early and come in as soon as the traffic got bad. We did have some good topwater action each day, we went looking for some schoolies for my boys to get into but never had that much luck. My one boy did catch a nice 16inch sm on chug bug and the other caught a nice lm on chugbug beatn the bank. We also had some nice fish on the bluff just down from Viney right where the channel swings back to the Big M side of the lake, we were dragging tube baits in that tree line. I had a couple of nice keepers in owl creek on a spook. My dad and I night fished Saturday night and had some nice fish on Chompers tube baits fishing right there in the Big M/Viney area. Hey Bill, just a note off your other thread. I also appreciate the information you provide on here. It has really helped me to stick with a pattern a little longer or try something a little different and have some success with it. I have fish TR for about 15 years now. I live by Beaver lake but fish TR more. My partner and I fished the winter series and the AIA this year and really only had one good showing where we had 19lbs. We always seem to come in with a small limit or lotsa times get our rears handed to us and cant even catch keepers but we both love to fish TR love the information provided on this website. But we did manage to squeak into the AiA championship that will be on Stockton. Looking forward to that, Stockton is an awesome lake too. I have also met some really nice guys on this site and some of those tournaments, capt. Don, EP, and Techo, great guys, I've talked to Techo a couple of times and we've exchanged information about what we were doing. So again I appreciate the infomation provided on this site and helps me when I go and practice and try and find the fish for myself.

I always look for SkeeterP and Nitro at each tourney, cool dudes that are as friendly as they come. True fisher folk! I look forward to seeing you guys at Stockton.

We said a prayer for the soul injured on the jet ski, BUT did no one see this coming? I am against more laws and regulations and have no idea on what happened on this particular "accident". Something has to be done sometime to protect the lake and the people on it. I fish the lake, because I enjoy it.....it is becoming less enjoyable as it becomes more crowded and respect for others seems to wane.

I know that you actually live at Table Rock, whereas I am there a total of about 15 days between April 1 and Late September, but this is the exact opposite of what I've noticed and I've traveled by boat from West of Point 22 over to the Dam on several occasions.

Every time the water is much rougher as I head East towards the dam and the size of boats just keeps getting bigger as I approach Kimberling City and further East.

What I notice is a bunch of Bowriders, Pontoons, and Bass Boats on the Shell Knob side, and the Cruisers start kicking in Past the highway 13 bridge headed east.

I know the water is much more narrow on the West side, but I barely feel safe on the Dam side of the lake because my 21 ft. boat will get brutalized by the wakes put out by the 28-35 ft. monsters

Maybe my 15 days I am there don't tell the story of the general conditions. (i'm not there on any holiday weekends, just summer 4 day weekends)

Boat is on Table Rock Lake near Shell Knob, MO

I always loved the boats pulling tubes downlake and the all the suden make a 180 degree turn with a ten year old right in front of your boat. They never look when they turn, drives me nuts. There just lucky im always paying attention when driving a boat.

because people are selfish and only think about themselves. You see it everyday on the road and it transpires onto the lake.
