Maybe just a silly thing, but I have been wondering for a long time why Trout jigs are tied with just the marabou, while Crappie jigs have a chenille body behind the head? I know that on the micro's up to maybe 1/8 oz they would be too small, but would it make a difference in the larger ones?

Give those crappie jigs a shot. They'll probably work a lot of the time especially in higher flows. Lower flows with really clear water might require a smaller jig that has better fit and finish.

I fish Zig Jigs for trout. Great hook. Lots of color options and head sizes. Less expensive by the dozen, but still not cheap. Great product though.

I've had great luck with crappie jigs for trout. The 1/32 white that Wal-Mart sells work great. The biggest trout I have ever caught on Taney fell to a 1/64 oz black crappie jig I bought at what was then Consumer's Grocery store in Branson.

I wish I knew how many trout I have caught on crappie jigs over the years, especially rubber tube jigs where legal.
