Also, Mr Scuds Rule, fly fishing is great. I'm not attacking your sport. And your right. It probably is more difficult to master, and it most definitely can be WAY more effective than anything I can toss on my spinning rod at times. But, there are a lot of miles of trout streams in Missouri, and we can fit both fly and spin fisherman in somewhere.

Anyway, I hope you have a good, nice, relaxing fishing trip sometime soon. Because you need to relax.

I like caps cuz i can't see well. They never bother me when i read them. ok sorry caps. feel better?

WOW, CAN'T BELIEVE YOU GUYS. WHY RECRUIT MORE ANGLERS???????????????????????????????? YOUR CRAZY. PEOPLE PARK ON HWY Y DOWN FROM MONTAUK. NOT AT THE LIL PULL OFF ACCESS ......... BUT ON THE SKINNY DIRT ROAD, AND TRESPASS DOWN TO THE RIVER TO FISH. AND YOU THINK ITS NOT BAD wtf? HOW LONG HAVE YOU FISHED THE CURRENT?????? THE ONLY GOOD TRIP IS THE RARE TRIP. THAT I DON'T SEE OTHER ANGLERS-UP STREAM- DOWN STREAM...ENOUGH SAID

There is no right or wrong way to fish. There is only the way that makes you happy. In complete honesty I can say that fish catching is not the reason why I fly fish. Fly Fishing has provided me with more feelings of serenity, and peace in a chaotic world. I'm sure you can attempt to understand why I might get upset about those using a message board to guide people. We all can admit that however long we have fly fished, or lure fished, that there is always something that we can learn from our fishing experience that connects us all. If we insist on crowding the river with human bodies then we must learn how to respect the fellow angler. We all share this love and passion for the outdoors yet we are constantly trying to separate ourselves from each other by labeling anglers a certain way. I don't judge a fisherman by how many fish he or she may catch. I respect every individual who is concerned with the sacredness of nature.

I'm open to giving every drop of fishing knowledge I possess to anyone willing to put the numbers of fish aside and find joy in the whole experience of nature and her infinite gifts. Gifts which she is constantly giving seem more real on a trout stream. So respect the fellow angler since he is just trying to witness the beauty. If I'm a "snob" then so be it. I grew up on the current. Now I can't fish it because of the crowds. Hopefully we have a frigid winter.

This isn't father it is the sun.

hey cricket, its 10 point that likes to compete. READ ALL MY POSTS> Where does it say I can out fish anyone? OR THAT I WANT TO COMPETE?

and GREG thanks for the report, but you are wrong. CHECK AGAIN. And for you to actually believe it is your responsibility to recruit fisherman OMG!

the post before this was my son. he has been fishing current for 16 years, he is 23. Ask him if there are less anglers. LESS IS BETTER! PRESSURE IS THE NUMBER ONE CAUSE OF ANY TROUT RIVER IN AMERICA TO SUCK..... NORFORK? WHITE? CUMBERLAND< TANNYCOMO< GREEN< GUNNISON< MADISON< YELLOWSTONE< AND ON AND ON. WE DIDN'T NEED THE RIVER RUNS THROUGH IT, OR ANY WEBSITES, FORUMS,GUIDES ETC TO HELP. I WAS BORN IN BILLINGS MT. I RECENTLY FISHED THE BIG HORN RIVER IN MT IN MARCH. DID OK, IT IS NOT EVEN CLOSE TO THE RIVER IT WAS 20 YEARS AGO. WHY? PRESSURE-PEOPLE, YET WE NEED TO SHOUT IT OUT TO MORE???? WOW, MUST BE YOU ALL GOT USED TO THE PARK TYPE OF FISHING (CROWDS) SO TO YOU, THE RIVERS ARE NOT CROWDED, :O_O: COMPARED TO YOUR MONTAUK TROUT PARK.

I'm open to giving every drop of fishing knowledge I possess to anyone AND FOR FREE :P HAHA THAT WAS MY SON. HOPE HE IS NOT SERIOUS!

AMEN TO THE FRIGID WINTER SON :goodjob:

Scuds, I did read all your posts. Every capitalized word. I made a friendly challenge, I really don't expect I can outfish anyone, it was an attempt to steal your secrets.

BUT I TAKE IT BACK. INSTEAD I AM INVITING YOUR SON. HERE'S WISHING FOR A COLD WINTER, I HOPE YOU RECANT THAT WISH BEFORE YOUR FRONT PORCH IS COVERED WITH A FOOT OF ICE!

I definitely feel where your coming from. I am 28 and grew up fishing the Niangua. Both our fisheries (Niangua and Current) have seen an increase in pressure over the years. One other thing that our area has seen? An increase in revenue, tax dollars, residents, and quality of life. Finding a balance is the key. Besides, how can you or I blame anyone for falling in love with a pasttime that we also love so much? Better to give advice and keep a keen eye for people abusing the fisheries.

I look forward to chatting with you, glad your here. Maybe youre the one I should be inviting down for the winter season?

Well then... You fly fish for the exact same reason I like to spin fish. I do, however feel that there is value to introducing people to the sport of fishing, so they can enjoy the same thing I do. It only seems right to me that I shouldn't horde the thing that makes me more happy than anything else, even if it it makes my experience a little less serene. I don't fish for numbers. On my favorite trout stream around this area, I feel great if I land 2 or 3 seven inch trout, but mostly I'm just there for the solitude, because I rarely see others fishing. If its a small stream, with unrestrictive regs that will truly be hurt by writing about on a forum, then I'll hold my tongue. If not, I'm willing to tell others about the stream, if their in it for the same thing is I, that is the solitude.

I don't any longer think your a snob, or a troll. I did think this at first, but now I realize that you care about the fishery, and the solitude at the Current, and in my opinion are just a bit over zealous about it. I've been known to be like that myself sometimes. To each their own.

Anyways, although there was a bit of a rocky start, welcome to the forum. I look forward to reading your posts.

Sounds good. I haven't been by there lately, but I'm trying to plan a trip there soon.

Might even use a Panther Martin. Just kidding

I'm going down there in a few weeks. But only after I know if ScudzRule will be there or not. I don't want to be tackled into the river and beaten for showing up with a spin reel and ultra lite rod - even if it is just for catch & release.

I'll post my report when I return... but that won't be until mid-October.
