oneshot Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 Ok we have a Cabin at Truman couple miles from a nice cove that should be some good fishing. We're about 10 miles from the Dam. Ok here is the question I like the looks of both places is it worth the Gas to drive over to the Dam,is the fishing that much better? oneshot
Members jnorman Posted September 1, 2009 Members Posted September 1, 2009 If fishing is hot below the dam, I would say yes it is definitely worth the 10 mile trip. But it all just depends on how the fishing is. I haven't been down in forever so I can't comment on that. Good luck either way! The best time to fish is when it's raining . . . and when it's not!
shaker Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 I haven't been below the dam for a while but for me I like it best when the corps is running lots of water which they have not been doing. So my vote would be fish the lake, with the temps. that we have been having lately all of the fishing should really pick up (I hope) it's been somewhat spotty in the last few weeks. Good luck!
Wayne SW/MO Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 Its always been hit or miss for me, but if you hit it right its worth driving a long way. Are you south or north on the lake? Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

Members Zach Beach Posted September 4, 2009 Members Posted September 4, 2009 Did you catch all of those whites and hybrids below the dam? Wow, what a catch. Looks like you had a awesome day.
slider Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 Caught the whites and hybryds one night the first week in June, I thinke we had 10 fish over 5lbs a couple weighed 8 to 10. Caught the flathead the middle of Aug. Most all the fish were caught on a purple bettle, below the dam. Slider DONT EVER GIVE UP MOSES WAS A BASKET CASE ONCE!
