Quillback Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 If you have not read the Outdoor's section in today's NWA Arkansas Gazette you might want to give it a read. In brief the AFG did their annual survey of fish populations, it confirmed what many of us are seeing, lots of small walleye, spotted bass, and healthy shad populations, so many Kentucks that they are thinking of taking the size limit off them to encourage people to keep them and thin out the population. Anyway, things are looking good for the future!
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted September 3, 2009 Root Admin Posted September 3, 2009 Is it online? Can't seem to find it on their site.
Bill Butts Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Quillback~ Thanks for your post, I would really like to read the full article to see what comments there are about the Temperate Basses -- Striped, Hybrid Striped and White Bass. However, since I am not a subscriber all I can read is the intro to the article. How about a little help by copying and pasting the article to another post so more of us can be educated? Thanks in advance for your help. Bill Bill Butts Springfield MO "So many fish, so little time"
Quillback Posted September 3, 2009 Author Posted September 3, 2009 Sorry guys, I'm not a subscriber either, I picked up a copy at the news stand. Maybe someone who is a subscriber will see this and post the article. It's really annoying they went to a subscriber view only on their website.
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted September 3, 2009 Root Admin Posted September 3, 2009 Does anyone know who would be THE fish man in Arkansas Fish & Game? The guy who could send us the report?
Bill Butts Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Phil, My thought exactly. Here is their dept contact for that area: AGFC Regional Offices: Northwest Regional Office 455 Dam Site Road Eureka Springs , AR 72631 479-253-2506 1-866-253-2506 - Toll Free Fisheries Biologist: Ron Moore --- Beaver Lake 877-631-6005, rmoore@agfc.state.ar.us Bill Bill Butts Springfield MO "So many fish, so little time"
Quillback Posted September 4, 2009 Author Posted September 4, 2009 I think I will suggest to them that they put this kind of stuff in the news section of the AFG website. I imagine they do they surveys on all the big lakes in AR, and it would be cool to see the results on their website.
