txspecks04
Looking to go out to the Kings for some small mouth this weekend, anyone know what the water is like over there since the recent rains? I checked the USGS near Barryville on the Kings and it looked like the flows were about normal. I would probably get in at the Marble Access. Any tips are appreciated. thanks, tx
Zack Hoyt
Give Mike a call at Riverside Resort for a good report on river conditions. I did a trip a few weekends ago and the water was LOW. Lots of fish though. Yum Vibra kings and Rebel Heelgramite hard baits worked very well for us. Alot of fish in the tail outs of rpids and feeding on bugs along the grassy shoreline. txspecks04
Thanks for the tip! Unfortunately, didn't make it out there Saturday morning due to the storms in the area early.
bobber
the gauge is at the other end of the river!... by the time it moves, the water near marble is gone! that section also has two bad low water bridges, the first one the water pushes hard right. the portage is way left side. the second one you just hear! it has about a 6 to 8 ft. drop over, and a" keeper" wave on the down stream side. lots of down trees along the way ... paddle safe! <*)))))))>< * AMERICAN CANOE ASSOCIATION CERTIFIED CANOE, and SWIFT WATER RESCUE INSTRUCTOR.*
