Seth Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 I'm supposed to meet up with some friends and family for a gigging trip this coming weekend around that area. I was curious if anybody on here has been to the Bourbeuse in there lately to know how clear the water is. Thanks, Seth

Not really clear, but not really murky. I would imagine gigging might be a bit difficult.

Sure did. Fished the lower river around Union. Mostly spots, but I did get one nice smallie. It looked pretty floatable, (with some dragging) down where I was, but I don't know about the upper river.

If it's way too low we'll head farther down. We don't mind dragging a bit as long as it's a trade-off to being alone. I'll let you know how it was when we get back. I'm so desperate to catch fish right now I might even go to Busch tomorrow to catch some slimy green ones if it's cloudy like it's supposed to be. Haven't been fishing in a couple weeks. Blah!

You'll probably do better for smallies way upriver. Floating might be tough, but you should be able to make it work.
