We're doing a day trip wade fishing the Little Piney on Oct. 10, 2009. I was wondering what flies y'all recommend we use and what is the recommended way to fish them? I think we'll be fishing around the Vida Slab area.

Mohair leaches, small nymphs, and eggs work well most of the time. Good luck.

Thanks, Gavin!

Thanks for the list of flies.

I had a hard time losing flies on the bottom last trip. I don't really know how to fish most of the flies. Any suggestions on working techniques?

In the fast runs, Czech nymphing works well. Otherwise, dead drifting nymphs has worked great for me. I have luck on green copper johns, tung teasers, and prince nymphs most of the time. There are always small olive woolly buggers, mohair leaches, and assorted egg colors with me for backup too.
