Hey guys, heading to the rock for the first time starting thur (10-15). I will be staying at Big Cedar. Where to from there? from the boards, it sounds like fishing should be good. Anything I need to make sure I bring as far as lures? What colors are mainstays on this lake? thanks for all the help.

Read the posts, and they will tell you everything. Wonderful people here. We all love to fish, and seem to share well. Good Luck.

For plastic just chose your favorite among the watermelons, plain/red/candy all work day in and out. The brown/purple laminate from Roboworm has been hot as a dropshot worm lately. I like pumkin, as a change of pace. A little Chartreuse and/or orange dye can add a little and helps some days.

tley: dwiebenga is right on about the top notch info on this board. I assume you will have electronics on your boat to gage depth and fish. I am just a little beyond a beginner on Table Rock and have only fished the area south of the HWY 86 bridge to a little beyond point 6 mostly which is not too far from Big Cedar. You will see folks fishing almost every main lake point. I note where other folks stop to fish. My best luck has been with football jigs with green pumpkin, watermelon or cinnamon split tail trailers. I really like throwing crank baits and have had some success with those from time to time. I am looking at early Novemeber for my next trip down. Researching the forum and refering to a good topo lake map would be helpful. I get a lot of valuable info from my resort owner as well. Good luck.

3inonegod sort of has a point. I never go on Table Rock without an Eakins jig and a Yamamoto double tail grub. Colors are generally watermelon or pumpkin seed. The reason is because I have success jig fishing. Other guys will post about how the spoon is working or some other method, but I generally seem to end up fishing my strength, Eakins jig. Other guys fish their strength such as spoons, stickaits or shaky heads.

I love the wiggle wart, spinner, and even now like the stickbait. I always have an Eakins tied on somewhere though.

It is hard for anyone to tell you what to fish. It is easier to tell you to fish main lake points and at what depth it is working for them.

With all of that in mind.....jigs seem to always do well. I would tie on whatever your favorite confidence lure is though. One of my friends fishes carolina rigged and texas rigged worms almost all of the time and he has success. I hope the spinner and buzz bait go soon.
