My buddy and I went out of Aunts Creek this morning. We fished from daylight till 11:00 AM. The fishing wasn't as good as I thought it would be.

We ended up catching six total with 2 of them being keeper size. We had the two keepers on spooks within the first hour after daylight.

We fished windy main lake and secondary points with a blade shallow and a jig deep and couldn't come up with anything. I hope the rest of you had better luck than we did this morning.

We went out just after daylight from Ahoy's down to mouth of North Indian. Couldn't get too much going on a spook, but caught a small one in some schoolers. Had my best luck on a War Eagle 1/2 oz heavy finesse jig flipping the original shoreline (before all the rain) behind hubby (Champ188) who was mostly throwing a spinnerbait. Had 3 keepers out of about 20 fish total. Two on the jig and one on the spinnerbait. The bite definitely died off as it got later when the front started moving in. Figured we'd find some on the dock corners, but no luck. We packed it in around 2 p.m. to come in and catch the Razorback game, of course. :)

Think it must have been slow for everyone. We are staying at Harpers Valley Resort and there is a bass club (about 8 boats) here from LOA fishing a tournament. We had more keepers than the club combined. Nice folks and good set up - Nancy and Basil Ellis, Harpers Valley. Our first visit here, but it won't be the last.

Going back out tomorrow and probably fish around Kimberling and Baxter. Thinking about jig, spoon and dropshot on bluff ends. Forgot Champ dabbled around with the dropshot some today and caught one or two.

Good luck if you are going back out tomorrow. We'll post again when we get home to Arkansas.

Fished yesterday as well out of Campbell Point. Caught 15-20, 2 keepers in the boat lost 2 others. Caught them on football jig and spinnerbait. Color in the Campbell point area. Very disappointed about the quality of fish. Should be able to catch some good ones right now, but like Bill B. said, the high water is not good for fall, at least for me. Fishing the Central Pro Am this coming weekend so hopefully something will materialize on Friday. Hope to see some other anglers there that are on the forum. Will be in a Z-20, gray and maroon, come by and say hi. With 50 boats, the pay out is $10,000, more entries, the pay out bumps up even more. Good luck when you get to go.

Water temp was 60-63 Sunday around Kimberling City. We're planning to fish the CPA this weekend, too, Fisherman. Donna and I will be in a white/silver Champion w/red and black trim. Hope to meet you.

It will be a crowded lake this weekend. The Missouri BASS Federation state tournament will take out of the Kimberling area as well with around 200 boats. I have no clue why CPA chose this weekend, the state tournament has been on the schedule since last November.

I was told that due to the Federation not taking any entries away from Central Pro-Am, they went ahead and scheduled it. May be that the Federation does not turn out 200 for theirs. I am sure they will have over 100, but you never know.

Tucker, there were only so many weekends available this fall and the thought was very few CPAA anglers fish Missouri BASS Federation but several do fish Heartland (the following w/e) and Anglers in Action (the w/e after that). Although it may crowd the lake a little 50 - 75 more boats is not a huge impact on the fishery or any other tournaments.

The event has been moved to Moonshine Beach at the request of the Corps of Engineers; the re-paving at Mill Creek did not have time to set before the water came up so the Mill Creek ramp will be closed this w/e.

Definately not complaining about CPA fishing this weekend I just think it will be interesting, launching wise, especially if Mill Creek ramp is closed. Our lake is plenty big enough for that many boats, it should be a good time.
