focused fishing Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 The Corps of Engineers has asked CPAA to move the Team Challenge from Mill Creek to Moonshine Beach. The ramp and parking area at Mill Creek was repaved just before the heavy rain two weeks ago and the water flooded the new paving before it had time to "set", therefore the Corps will keep the ramp closed until the water is at pool and they have the opportunity to re-pave the parking lot. The event will still be 7:00 am (safe light) until 3:00 pm both Saturday and Sunday, out of Moonshine Beach by the dam. $500 entry per team with $10,000 to first with 50 entries, 80% payback. Call Kris at the CPAA office to enter 417-335-5075 or with any additional questions. http://www.central-proam.com Eric Prey Focused Fishing Guide Service http://focusedfishing.com Pro Staff For: Jewel Bait Company, Bass Pro Shops, Chompers, Branson.com, Branson Fishing TV, Tightlines UV, K.A.S.T.,
Whack'emGood Posted October 20, 2009 Posted October 20, 2009 Amazing... I want a job with the COE... Apparently you don't have to know how to do anything right or be even remotely good at your job to work for them. They have been promising tournament directors and such that they would pave that parking lot/ramp "...next month for sure" for over a year now... In the meantime, they poured gravel all over the ramp and parking lot. It sure was fun skidding, sliding around, and throwning rocks all over our boats and trucks all Summer. Then they finally decide to do it when the monsoon is coming in. Genuises! I wonder how long "after the lake is at pool" it will take them to get around to repaving it again. I'll bet it won't be open until well into next Summer, if that. I'm going to fish my style and make it work for me." -KEVIN VANDAM "Confidence is the best lure in your tackle box." -GERALD SWINDLE "A-Rig? Thanks, but no thanks. If I can't catch them on the conventional tackle that I already use, then I guess I just can't catch them." -LK (WHACK'EM)

Whack'emGood Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 LOL, Whack 'em. I wish you were wrong but i fear you are dead-on correct. I hope so too Champ... Sorry for the negativity... but I endured a lot of frustration on the Mill Creek Ramp this year. I don't mean to insult all COE workers... most of them are working hard and just doing what they are told to do. They'll get it fixed soon. motoman Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 Sounds like those COe guys could be meterologists. You rarely have to get things correct, and you still keep your job!

The ramp/parking lot is BEAUTUFUL! They finally got it done and, if I may say so, they did a great job. Now hopefully we won't get a repeat of Monsoon 2009 to tear it up again.
