I'm heading down to an upper stretch tomorrow. Just wondering if any of you guys have visited lately and caught any smallmouth??? How about any nearby streams? Just trying to pick up a possible pattern or two.

I am not sure what the water temps are on that stretch, but this time of year I throw three lures-- Pointer, spinnerbait, and flukes.

Yep, me too. Tomorrow will be the third day in a row to reach 70 degrees, so I'm hoping they'll be moving around a little.

Should be down at Onandaga on Friday & Saturday. A current report would be appreciated...thinking of floating from there on down to Cambell on Friday or Saturday, maybe a field trip over to Blue Spring Creek if the bass fishing is off.

I really wish I could give you that report, but it looks like the powers that be put the kibosh on my trip. The transmission in my truck went weird and I had to take it to the mechanic. Total drag.

Skip at Green's Canoe said the river was still up, but that's about all the info I have.

Wish I could help, but unfortunately I haven't been in a bit. Ironically I'll be floating on Sunday.

Sorry about your transmission. I know how that feels unfortunately.

Gavin, ironically I'll be floating that same stretch on Sunday. I'm gonna be ready to fish slow.

Well the mechanic said he couldn't find anything wrong with the truck, and even though I know he's wrong since it's making a god-awful noise, I'm gonna drive down tomorrow anyway. It only seems to do it if I'm pulling the trailer.

So if any of you boys see a broke down gray F-150 on Hwy 44, help a brother out, will ya?

Gavin and OTF, I'll be floating a stretch way up high well above Hwy 8, and last I heard the weather might change some after tomorrow, so I don't know how relevant my report will be. But I'll post it anyway when I get back. Hope I make it. Wish me luck.

Good luck. Never been that far upriver, but I bet it's pretty down there. You'd think the fish would be a little less pressured.

From what I hear there are far less floaters up there. Skip told me to bring a bow saw in case I need to clear a couple lay downs. Think I'll just portage around them, but that sounds like a good sign to me. Should be a great day for fishing today. I'll let you know......

Posted a report under "Upper Meramec 10/21/09." Looks like things might change tomorrow, though, with more rain coming in. Hope you guys can still fish this weekend. Good luck!
