troutgnat Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 Gentlemen, I am from Harrison, AR but have a cousin in Springfield and would like to fish with him on one or more of these 3 lakes. Can I use my 18' Ranger on any of these bodies of waters even if I only run in no-wake only. I don't plan on burning down the lake I have no problem using trolling motor only I just want access with my bass boat. Can someone let me know the regs and if this may be possible. Thank you very much! Darren Sadler "Fishing is an Education...Often the fish 'school' me, yet I do not complain. I just keep going to class!"
Wayne SW/MO Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 No, unfortunatly. The restriction is for HP and I don't believe I've even seen any No Wake buoys. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Members AmericanAngler Posted October 24, 2009 Members Posted October 24, 2009 No Boats at all permited on Mcdaniel, Springfield Lake has a HP Limit and I believe Fellows also has a limit on HP but you may want to call them on that one. I have fished all three and worked for the Security company that patrols these lakes. Jeff "Let me fish or else"
Dutch Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 Spfld lake 6 hp Fellows 40 If you use the trolling motor with your big motor up and get caught you will get ticketed.
troutgnat Posted October 29, 2009 Author Posted October 29, 2009 this really sucks and unfair i believe. Darren Sadler "Fishing is an Education...Often the fish 'school' me, yet I do not complain. I just keep going to class!"
Flysmallie Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 this really sucks and unfair i believe. I agree. We used to fish lake Springfield in bass boats and were always told that as long as you took the prop off the outboard we were legal. Of course that was about 20 years ago too.
Members AmericanAngler Posted October 30, 2009 Members Posted October 30, 2009 I sure wish you could get on Mcdaniel with a boat I have seen some bass down on the south west end that are spectacular. The catfishing there is awsome too. My best friend still patrols the lake there and still has to kick folks out of the woods sometimes we cant even go hiking through the woods to fish the shoreline it suck only fishing is near the bridge or off the bridge. I like the Idea of taking the props off I am going to ak if that would be ok to do Ill get back with yall on that one asap..... "Let me fish or else"
Ämp Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 they told me no at the new building on springfield lake .. still counts if you have the motor on .. i asked about taking the prop off and loosing the gas , still no. .
