vacation Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 I have a bow mount Eagle 500c fish finder, less than 1 year old. Has worked great since March, but the other day I was using it and all of the sudden the screen went black. Without going into too much electrical detail, is there a chance the unit failed or do I have a current/electrical problem? Assuming fuse is good, do I need to check battery connections, etc.... Any body had this happen to them? Thanks Jim
Brian K. Shaffer Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 I say take it back to where you bought it. Electrical issues are not fun to figure out. Especially when you need it to work, and it doesnt. Brian Just once I wish a trout would wink at me! ozarkflyfisher@gmail.com I'm the guy wearing the same Simms longbilled hat for 10 years now.
Dutch Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 You better check the battery to which the unit is attached. If it is going bad and voltage drops those units shut down.
denjac Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 You might check the inline fuse. And also I have kicked wires loose under the dash before. Might trace it down to see . Dennis Boothe Joplin Mo. Wayne SW/MO Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 Its probably the fuse, which is easy to fix. What's hard to figure out would be why it blew in the first place. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
