Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted October 30, 2009 Root Admin Posted October 30, 2009 Not looking good for the Tri-Lakes Area. We were deluged tonight with several big showers, flooding at least our road in several places. Not looking good for the lakes either. If you hadn't noticed, they didn't drop Beaver Lake much at all and with this rain, I'd think they'll open flood gates to keep the water from coming over the dam - my guess anyhow. That means MORE water in Table Rock and Bull Shoals on TOP of all this runoff. Glad there isn't another rain behind this one... or is there?

It is 10:52 pm and the rain is still coming down at Taneyville. Not light rain either.
Brian K. Shaffer Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 I think we could use a flash update weather report .. for everytime it rains. This is nuts. Some areas out east were expecting 6-8 inches. Wonder what it do for the DO .. and the brown run ? I hope they got enough fish already. RSBreth Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 I was driving around in it at my part-time gig last night. Mucho agua. I somehow don't think I'll be fishing Crane tomorrow like I planned...

This morning's NWS extended forecast from the Springfield office is calling for Sunny/dry weather today through next Thursday so that's good news. However, the radar is currently showing another big slug of rain moving NE from Texass all the way up through Kansas so maybe they think it will miss SW MO for once ? October was already the wettest on record before yesterday's and last night's downpours. Bad news is the Month of November is usually the wettest Month of the year by average which surprised me when I learned it. I would have thought April or May..... Don't at all understand the COE strategy for keeping Beaver so high for so long ??? They don't share much info even though we pay their wages so who knows. At least the migrating Snow Geese like it. Saw at least 1500 birds rafted up together and resting Wednesday morning on TR and then one Bass boat went by ( he did try and avoid them ) and they all got up and flew off. Very impressive sight !
Al Agnew Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 Still raining here. Rained all night. My pond is overflowing in a river. The little wet-weather creek behind the house is floatable (class 4 at least). Looking at the river gauges should be interesting.
timsfly Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 Crane didn't look to bad this morning, it is up about a foot. Flat creek at Jenkins is big, bad and brown, probably up 6' + Roaring river is in good shape, the uppper end is up a foot, the lower end below dry hollow is up about 3' the river is still fairly clear, not muddy yet. jeb Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 Only 1.5" in the rain gauge in the last 24 hours here at Prairie Creek here on Beaver Lake. So probably not a lot of pressure on the downstream lakes from Beaver on this one. But it'd sure be nice if they dropped Beaver 5+' sometime soon! John B 08 Skeeter SL210, 225F Yamaha
