Am I mistaken ? Did T/R crest out at 919.06 just within the last hour or so ?

So 4 units will be the norm... but for how long ? .. 3 weeks or more ?

UGH! ... I love to hate this river! I really hate it during these times though.

However, I did tie up some bugs and fill a few boxes during all this rain.. and learned more about wrapping up some blanks thru youtube and goldenwitch online.

This brown run fishing is going to be rough until Dec or so I bet.

Good, cause winter fishing is awesome. But it might way too late brownies.

HOW much longer is this water going to run! UGH charlie brown!

Brian,

I called the recording at 9am. Tr lake level was at 919.0 and beaver was running one unit. I talked with Jeff T. last night and he said that the mississippi had lots of water south of st. louis. That will probably determine how quick the white river chain can let water go. I know that bull shoals has alot of holding capacity, but how much? You're estimate of 3 weeks at 4 units would be a safe bet. I think that the tailrace level was at 711. Doesn't look good. I think that the current will be down in a couple of weeks, so I may make that my winter hot spot. Other than our normal resident browns, I would say it's over. What is the water temp below the dam? That will have an impact on the rainbows as well.

I'm coming down for a 4 day trip from the 11th to the 14th ans staying @ Lilley's.. seems when we make our plans we never hit it right.. but fishing out of a boat we always adjust and catch a lot of fish no matter how the waters running.. seems every time we go in late Oct or Nov the water is moving good.. I like to fish for bigger fish with countdowns and some crank baits and use larger jigs off and on thru out the day.. last year I was using a chrome Dome and was doing real well.. used my last ones and can't find them now.. they were 1/8th and 1/16th oz chrome head/ white maribu/ tied with red thread.. anyone out there know where I can find them.. Bass Pro and Cabela's do not and couldn't help.. Looking forward to my trip in less than 2 weeks

It looks like Beaver is near its capacity, but BS can hold another 20'. Winter can be worse, if we get a big snowfall and a quick thaw they could start dumping a lot of water.

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

As I mentioned on another post, white 1/8 oz PJ's jigs that Phil has in his shop, along with drifting # 10 gray scuds worked well for me last week. The bigger fish were from Lookout to Fall Creek.

I'm back from Texas.

I've heard flood gates are back on. They have to run gates so that they can run 4 full units to balance out the oxygen or lack of. So that's a good thing. Temp should be about the same - 55-59 degrees which is good.

The lake crested lower than I thought it would. Last time they ran the gates till the water was down to 917.5 so it doesn't have far to go. This last rain wasn't as bad as the last one. I just came over Kings and Long Creek at 412 and both were down to normal or even lower it looked... the best look I could give it at 65 mph. On Friday when I went south, they were rollin'.

I gather fishermen caught trout today. They were cleaning rainbows this evening on the dock.
