I have been down to the lake several times over opening weekend and suspect it will be about the same this weekend. Ghost town. Anyone else trading the rifle for a fishing rod?

I'm fishing at TR.

It will be nice and quiet out there with everybody else hunting.

Good luck to all... both fishermen and hunters! ;)

May need the luck. Heard from someone it was tough yesterday. 4 fish for a little over half day. Sounded like there may be some whites available early. I may start at TR and then trailer over to Taney if things don't come together.

Hoping to fish tomorrow, depending on the list of things to do, the Mrs. has managed to think of. I love fishing during hunting time. Very very quiet. Where you putting in at Whackem?

Hey T.

We're probably putting in at Mill Creek... or maybe Baxter.

We caught them on Eakins Jigs last Saturday between those areas... brown jigs (5/16) with green pumpkin chompers trailers. I know you like to fish the same way T. ;)

We're going to try the same deal tomorrow.

Maybe we'll see some of you guys out there... we'll be in a white with black/silver Nitro with a Mercury. If you see us, come over and say hi.

Looks like I may have state park and the dam area to myself. Hope the south winds continue. I lit it up last year on windblown banks fishing a blade. Killing having to wait until Sunday.

I fished the Holiday Island area Saturday 10 to 3. First time on the water in several weeks - 4? 5? Anyway, I started with a walking bait as the cloud cover was still there. Nada. Tried the wart. Nada. Jig with plastic craw. Nada. Reaction Flirt on a 1/8 ounce jig head fished Charlie Brewer style - 6 fish (5LM, 1 SM) with one keeper and two near keepers. Fish in 8 to 20 feet of water. Water temp 55 to 57. Hope everyone else didn't have to work that hard to get bit. "Do nothing" fishing works, but it wears me out.
