laker67 Posted November 14, 2009 Posted November 14, 2009 Everyone needs to report in and tell of your lunker catches today. Here is my report. Today I fished my 33rd consecutive winter trout season. And today made 33 consecutive years that I have caught one or more lunkers while fishing the winter season. At a undisclosed location, I hooked up with 9 lunkers today, and was fortunate enough to land 5. Everything was on the small side including the four that I lost. The fish ranged from 3.5 to 5 pounds. I only found one "good" fish, but she thumbed her nose at all my offerings. The water was high and slightly cloudy, making for difficult sight fishing. I would imagine others experience the same conditions in other locations. If you caught or lost a lunker today, tell the story.
dgames Posted November 14, 2009 Posted November 14, 2009 caught a couple at roaring river that I would guess were about 3lbs
duckydoty Posted November 14, 2009 Posted November 14, 2009 DD'sMC, Dave (my brother) and I all fished at an undisclosed location somewhere in Missouri also......We had a wonderful day of weather with a beautiful sunrise this morning, good people to fish with and lots of friends to be seen on the river. I started the day with catching my first fish on my first cast and ended up getting interviewed by a newspaper reporter from Rogers, Arkansas. I got my picture taken and everything. On my very next cast I lost my first of several lunkers to be hooked and lost today. Put to hand 2 lunkers, lost 6 monsters. Next is my brother Dave's report..... Put to hand 3 lunkers, lost 2 to the tubes and had 2 LDRs. Finally, DD'sMC's report.... Put to hand 4 average sized bows, caught 1 nice rainbow 3 times before finally landing her on the fourth hook up, in front of a few fellow OAFers, and assistance from her net boy with her new super fantastic "Rainbow Networks" custom made, exotic wood, hand-tuned landing net.....got the stink on my new net, Rick Thanks a million!!! BTW...DD'sMC's lunker was the big stinky fish of the day!!!! A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! Visit my website at.. Ozark Trout Runners

I started the day with catching my first fish on my first cast and ended up getting interviewed by a newspaper reporter from Rogers, Arkansas. I was interviewed by that same guy and he took some pics of me landing a fish. I will be on the lookout for his story. Nice fish by the way. Your group really got into the lunkers. I am impressed. I caught a lot of fish, but I never could hook up with any of the big ones I tried sight fishing. The two good sized ones I got were both plain luck on fish I didn't see beforehand. Both of them ended up taking me downstream into the next pool.
Members Dan Sweeney Posted November 14, 2009 Members Posted November 14, 2009 Here in a monster wall hanger. I know it's not a trophy trout, but maybe you could catch a big brown with it?...or a small cutt for that matter! Actually I was out brem fishing yesterday afternoon and picked this guy up. It makes me feel good about the future generations of bass in that lake! Silence is golden.
Chief Grey Bear Posted November 14, 2009 Posted November 14, 2009 No lunkers for me or KC. We headed well down stream looking for something else and we found it. We ended up with three of these and it was all worth it. I did miss one really nice fish in the 20inch range though. What a fighter! Alas it was not to be. This time! Buzz Posted November 14, 2009 Posted November 14, 2009 Caught two good fish and broke off one lunker. It was a great day to be on the river and meeting a bunch of great people. First good fish: Second good fish: If fishing was easy it would be called catching.
FishinCricket Posted November 15, 2009 Posted November 15, 2009 Nice fish, Buzz.. That bottom one looks wore plumb out! cricket.c21.com
