Seth Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 Always heard of guys catching lots of big crappie in the winter time on the Bourbeuse. Any truth to this? I know gigging it we see a few, but usually they are nice ones. I've got four deer down this year so I'm getting the itch to go fishing again.

I've never really much targeted crappie, but I have caught a whole bunch on accident just about everywhere on the Bourbeuse, with the best concentrations being in the long, slow, deep pools. I'm not sure if they bite well in winter or not.
