trizkid Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 got to the park around 8:30am was a little chilly but not bad, the water had looked like it had cleared some from two weeks ago when i was there. two buddies and i started where the two currents run together down from the granny hole and the line. immediately started hooking in to them, all three of us. with in the first 20 mins i had hooked and lost 4 trout and caught 1. the trout were good sized trout that we hooked/caught all day long. walked around the park and spotted 3 or 4 just monsters but all of which were in very slow deep holes right up next to the sidewalk and were not doing much but just sitting there not moving hardly at all. Had one look at a yellow leeche but only for a second. Anyway we all did well the whole day, it started raining around 230 and that seemed to turn em off. my last fish of the day was the biggest of the day i believe and i had to chase him down to get him in . Hooked up with him about 25ft down from the line and he ran me down to the last boulders there before the two currents meet down near the parking lot. nice fish! what caught about 85% of the fish all day? this guy i tie up, down know what you would call it, but it works great.. flyfishmaster Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 triz, That is different looking fly, but if it works who cares what it looks like. Right! Just wondering, was the beadhead enough weight to keep the fly down or did you have to add extra lead? FYI: Fish porn is cool. Later, FFM Woo Hoo Fish On!!

Interesting fly. I like it. Kind or a spinoff of a Y2K, with a longer tail and some flash, then again it's not. Since it catches fish. You need to give it some cool name. ... wader wader
trizkid Posted December 4, 2009 Author Posted December 4, 2009 ya i wrapped the size 6 hook pretty good with lead to give it more weight, that glo yarn doesnt like to sink well untill it is full of water. I got the idea of that fly from the y2k, but your right its not a y2k which i beleive is more of a egg pattern. it has worked great for me on the current and at meramec springs so far.....you guys should tie some up and give em a try....any suggestions on a name for the thing? laker67 Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 ...any suggestions on a name for the thing? Reminds me of a "doll fly" from years gone by.
flyfishmaster Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 How about "Wild Thing... You Make My Reel Sing" Later, FFM Woo Hoo Fish On!!
creek wader Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 or the "Proattractor".... get it? Keep it simple. How about calling it "trizkid". wader
