Whodat Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 Got down this morning to find only 4-5 trucks parked. 3 people fishin chute 1 with fly rods so I took my spinning rig and went toward the cable.Waded out and started with a small rapala and nothing.Tied on a red/silver roostertail and had 2-3 short strikes but that was it.Tied on a brown roostertail with a gold blade and on the second cast caught a nice brown about 15-16 inches long.It had milt comming out everywhere.Few more casts and connected with a nice rainbow about the same size.Ended up catching 5 nice fish before I left with 3 being browns all squirting milt out.All the fish were 15-18 inches long.
Leonard Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 Thanks for the report Who... I'll add mine to it.. I made it down for a couple hours myself... I didnt see SQUAT!!! (no I dont mean Franck AKA Dawgsquat!)..LOL I saw about 6 hatchery flushes and ony about a dozen fish... Outlet 1 was DEAD!! and the same story with outlet 2... Best reports I heard today was about 3-8 fish MAX! after catching a total of 1 around the outlets.. I headed down stream.. I made my way down toward the bighole and thats where I found the fish... Caught 7 in about 20minutes using a black/purple hibernator missed about a dozen more strike... Tossed the PMS a few time.. 2 fish... for the most part pretty good for a 2 hours and 3 units... Members Cad Posted December 14, 2009 Members Posted December 14, 2009 Leonard, I think I was across from you up at one and you were dead on it was very slow. I caught 4 when there wasn't a flush going on and 4 when they were flushing it and I was up there 2 hours. Didn't even see fish at my feet when wading. Pretty slow, but at least it was good to get out.
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted December 14, 2009 Root Admin Posted December 14, 2009 I'll add mine... It's been slow in the trophy area for the last 5 days. Might have a good drift and catch 4-6 trout and then nothing. Below Fall Creek, though, has been very good, drifting Gulp and night crawlers. I fished alittle Friday and caught a few on one drift from Lookout to Short creek but most of them came below Fall Creek on a orange head/sculpin 1/50th oz jig under a float 8 feet deep. Today I made one drift and caught nothing. Lake is very dark, lots of dark silt coming from Table Rock since it turned over, which is normal.
