Mike Worley Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 The winter bite is on at Bull Shoals Lake !! The lake level is dropping and the game fish are biting well in the main lake current areas. Walleye are 40'-50' deep on the bluffs and spotted bass are thick on many of the main lake brush piles at the same depth. Smallmouth bass are bitting at depths of 20'-40'. We caught 9 walleyes in 3 hours with 4 keepers to 24" on spoons.
Ham Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 I knew it should be. Where were you able to launch at this water level? Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
Mike Worley Posted December 15, 2009 Author Posted December 15, 2009 I knew it should be. Where were you able to launch at this water level? I launched at Welcome Ridge, the water was still up in the parking lot but really no trouble to launch or park.
Ham Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 Thank you for the follow up on where you launched. Welcome Ridge is kinda out of the way for me, but at some water levels that may be what I need to do. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
Forsythian Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 Has anyone tried the launch on the Cedar Creek side of Elbow? thanks! Cenosillicaphobiac
Ham Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 The ramp at Pontiac is in good shap and would be usable at 19~20 foot. There is a low spot in the road prior to the ramp. I think the ramp itself would be usable to 21 or 22 foot. If someone knows better about the ramp at Pontiac PLEASE educate me. We launched at Spring creek yesterday, but it is a two man job or wear waders. You might get water in your vehicle if it sits lowish before you can get your boat off the trailer. Of course, water is dropping 0.70 a day so lots of ramps are becoming usable. Theodosia should have a ramp that is usable at around 17 foot. Fish were difficult to find yesterday. One fish here or there with fish scattered from shallow to deep and back of a creek to main lake. Nice size fish though and a definite late afternoon bite helped my feelings a lot.
