Boy, this upgrade is throwing me for a loop. I bet it is for most of you too.

The back-end is very, very different. It's going to be awhile before I figure out how to put everything back to the way it was. Hopefully I won't delete the whole thing.

Ask if you have any questions and I'll try to help. For the most part, we're all on our own.

Heck, I couldn't even get the thing back online for a while!

Phil,is this still a test or is this what the "Forum" is going to look like from now on? What was wrong with the the other look? I gotta say, I'm sort of disapointed, but I'm sure I'll get used to it. What are the advantages to this format over the old?

No test. It is what it is. Advantages? Not sure yet. There may be some add ons in the future. We'll see.

I do see that "interests" comes up under each poster's name... and gender too.

OK then. I guess I'll start trying to figure it out. I did notice that the emoticons and other buttons on the post page aren't working yet, but you did say you had more work to do. Carry on.

I wasn't sure about it after looking around for the first few minutes, but after playing around on it for awhile, I'm starting to warm up to it... From what I can tell, it will allow for a little more social interaction between members. At least thats my first impression.

I do like the feature that lets you follow updates on selected topics/forums is neat, will probably save me a lot of time at least...

Just a couple of questions, what is the purpose behind the "vote this post up/down" feature in the bottom corner of every post? And the reputation feature on the profile page, whats that for?

I've seen this on other forums, namely Field and Stream's. Kinda dumb really. Reputation feature... I'll have to check that out.

Transition seems smooth enough.

Change can be good. Wonder if I will start to get subscription notifications.

I found the 'View new content' link -- so I'm good for now. Cleaner, more up-to-date look for sure. I gotta feeling we'll find some cool stuff in here.
