Spinnaker Posted January 8, 2010 Posted January 8, 2010 Interesting thread and comments. It would interesting to know of the fishing boats on Table Rock what is the average length of boat and hp. I know my rig would be below the average. I am not in the same league boat wise with many I am a casual fisherman although I go quite often. The top speed of my 16.5 ft. Lund (aluminum deep V hull) with a 50 hp 4 stroke yamaha (tiller) is about 35 mph. I bought the rig in 2004 and it is my first and last fihing boat that I need. There is room for every type and size and everyone has different considerations. For me, I wonder about my comfort level going 60 mph on Table Rock.
jeb Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 Nothing at all wrong with that boat. When I lived up north, my favorite fishing boat ever was an 18' lund with a 50hp tiller. I fished a lot of Mississippi backwaters and it was a great boat for that or the main channel. I'm also just a recreational angler, but the size of the lakes down here made a faster boat make more sense to me. It really opens up the lakes. But on our trips to TR, it can be tough to go fast in the middle of the day in the summer with all the big boats and wake board boats stirring things up. Beaver can get that way, too.
