flyfishmaster Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 Let's see, 33 flies x 6 inches between each one = 16.5 ft. That's a pretty long tippet section. A six pack to anyone who rigs up like this and can cast it. It would be worth it just to see it done. Here is one more thing to think about... what if you do fly on 33 flies. I have about a 30 seconds average time to tie one a fly. So that comes out to 16½ mintes just in setup time. Then on your first cast you get caught up in a tree and lose all 33 flies. If the flies are all purchased at an average cost of $1.10 each that would come out to $36.30. That makes for a long and expensive day. Later, FFM Woo Hoo Fish On!!
bikehikefish Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 It would be less of a monetary loss if you tied your own, but jeez, think of all the time spent tying them, all gone in one cast.
Randall Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 No hard feelings Randall. Your the legal scholar...I'm not. The rules arent clear and I'm comfortable with that. Think I'll take my chances till I see a definite prohibition. You'd probably have to tick off an agent to get a ticket for it anyway. Legal scholar... that might be the least offensive thing I've been referred to as in a while. I probably should go ahead and say that I am not qualified to provide a legal opinion and any statement I make should not be relied on in any manner. Later. Cute animals taste better.
Paola Cat Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 ..... but think about the potential for multiple fish hook-ups. Head to your favorite trout park and go for it. "I made one cast ... thought I hooked a monster ... it had to be 11 lbs. .... got it close ... it was 11 (1) pounders". PC Cheers. PC
