ollie Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 What a day I had! I tore 'em up yesterday! Had a mix of fish and caught something just about every cast. My two buddies wanted me to walk home after I kept catching them! Then they decided I had to ride as the hood ornament! After about the third cast I hooked into a nice 15-16" brown and then caught a huge goggle-eye in the same hole. Then we moved on and I caught three bows out of the next hole with a mix of eyes again. In that hole we witnessed a very large trout slurping the top for the hatch and he was every bit 20". Couldn't get him hooked however so we went on again to another hole where I pulled out a nice 12" largemouth. After that one the next hole gave up a nice rainbow and two nice smallies that went 14" and 13" respectfully. It was just one of those days when nothing went wrong and the fish were biting all day. We saw lots of top water activity with fish jumping everywhere. More people down there than I enjoy, but oh well I still did alright. Olive woolybugger jig did most of the damage. Man I love this creek. "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!
Buzz Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 Sounds like a great day. It seems like that creek just keeps getting better and better. If fishing was easy it would be called catching.
