Wayne SW/MO Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 Probably the last of April and first of May, which coincidentally is the best time for tornadoes. If I was flexible I would watch weather and water temps. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
techo Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 - Yup, I vote for end of April, early May. That's always been good to us. - I would advise against March. We got burned last year and had sleet, freezing rain and snow to fish in. It was aweful. And it seemd to be a bit much for the fish too; they didn't cooperate either! I remember that weekend! Spinner bait bite was on. Tim Carpenter
Spinnaker Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 If you were me and you were going to plan a full week off of work this spring to fish TR which month and if you feel confident which week would it be? We are also going to fish Bull Shoals as well. Instead of going way north this year our guy's trip is going to stay close to home. Thanks, BRBF BRBF: Just curious about your decision not to go "way north this year". I have been going to Canada every year for 25 years and this might be an off year for me. How far north do you go?
Guest csfishinfool Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 I'm with the majority and say the last week of April or early May, I had the best day of fishing of my life at this time on the rock. We caught over 80 keeper smallies in one day!!! They were post spawn and still in about 10 feet of water, it was crazy. Most were that 15 inch range. But there was one that was over five and few over three. I wouldn't think even Canada would have anything on that day!

Thanks, BRBF Regardless of which week you pick, you need to read this several times before you leave. I read it again today and am so ready to go I can hardly keep a thought in my head. Still probably the best read on this site. Thanks again Bill. http://ozarkanglers.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=9675&st=0
