Flippin Posted January 29, 2010 Author Posted January 29, 2010 Captain Joe, In the picture it looks like the spinnerbait are hanging over the lip edge and not in the hole. If that is true it seems like the spinnbaits would slide off when you closed the lid?
Gary Lange Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 Flippin, they have the corners made of plastic, metal and paper. I suspect by looking at Capt. Joe's setup that he used plastic. This would make the most sense because you don't want a torn rack as with the paper or a rusty rack as would happen with the metal. That is a very nice setup you have Capt. Joe. You're and innovative guy for sure. Respect your Environment and others right to use it!
CaptainJoe Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 It is the plastic corner board and the hooks are inserted into the holes of the corner board. Here are some pictures showing leftover corner board that I just nailed to the wall. I keep extra baits here. Notice that I am using the S-hooks in the picture holding some of Wiggle Wart boxes. These pictures show it better. Captain Joe Hreha Owner of MO Fenchbulldogs.com; Captain Joe's Guide Service (Retired); OAF Contributor; & Captain, U. S. Flippin Posted January 29, 2010 Author Posted January 29, 2010 Ah, I see it now. Those last pictures cleared it up. Capt. Joe, that is a great set up. Your idea coupled with getfished idea for the plastics could really make a smooth system. Thanks for the input guys.
CaptainJoe Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 Just to clarify. Not my idea. I got from the Nov 2009 Bassmaster magazine under the "Here's How To Save Bassin' Bucks" by Don Wirth. getfished Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 Hey Captain Joe. That is a great place to get ideas. I read it regularly. I'll step out to the garage here in a minute a get a pic or two for you guys. It's 18 degrees here and snowing. GETFISHED !!! http://www.tacklespecialty.com/
getfished Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 Here's a couple of pics. I hope they're good enough to be useful This pic is the easyview with my homemade one just barely visible to the right. My cabinet lid has an aluminum support brace on the inside that I mounted to. The easyview system can be mounted that way or with glued on. GETFISHED !!! http://www.tacklespecialty.com/
Sam Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 I don't have any storage clips on the bottom side of my compartment lids - but after seeing this, I'm going to add some. That's a great idea! I only have a Tracker TX-17, but it suits me. In my boat model year, they wasted almost all the space under the front deck. So, a few years back I built, carpeted, and added three new storage compartments under there. Two of the new compartments are made to exactly fit two carrier boxes, each of which holds four standard plastic tackle boxes. I have the boxes all organized and each one is marked on the front with "Big Worms", "Little Worms", "Crappie", "White Bass", "Plugs", etc. To the new little compartment up front, I even added a small swing-up yellow light with a switch (trailer clearance light) for re-tying while night fishing. Since I added these new compartments and got things organized, it sure helps.
Flippin Posted January 29, 2010 Author Posted January 29, 2010 Great pictures getfished. That looks like it would work pretty good. Sam nice job on the innovation of adding extra storage.
CaptainJoe Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 Thanks, Guys....that's good stuff. I always say: "An organized fisherman is a better fisherman." Flippin....thanks for the thread.
