BlueWave Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 Are you boys getting hit by ice down at the Lake? Is it just me or has the last couple of years been extreme for NW Arkansas??
jeb Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 It's raining now by the lake, but I don't think it's freezing yet. Yeah, been an interesting couple of winters. But having lived in MN for 35 years, it's hard to call it extreme. John B 08 Skeeter SL210, 225F Yamaha
jdmidwest Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 Funny how a little snow is a major event in the news now, and for that matter, all this week they have been crying about it. I think we are going to get a few inches of snow here. Most of the crew was discussing how they probably would not make it to work in the morning. All own 4wd and live on paved roads, lol. I am planning a trip out of town this weekend to get away, Better half thought the storm would keep us home. The 4 Runner has a nice set of agressive tires and I like sightseeing in the snowy countryside. Unless it is ice, the trip is on. BlueWave Posted January 29, 2010 Author Posted January 29, 2010 I am up in Kansas with a place there, but the weather channel has been talking about significant icing and power outages. I love the snow...............it's the ice storms that have given me fits.
Zack Hoyt Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 Ice seems to have quite here in Pea Ridge....snowing now. Zack Hoyt OAF Contributor Flies, Lies, and Other Diversions
Quillback Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 Just stuck my head out the door, not much accumulation so far, maybe an inch of sleet, it is raining right now, hard to tell if it's freezing rain. Supposed to turn to snow. I still have power, I can live with this stuff as long as the power stays on.
rps Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 Here at Holiday Island we have 2 or so inches of ice crystals on the ground. No ice on the trees or wires. Forecast is now for snow on top of that during the day. I do hope we get the low end of the predicted amount - 2 inches - instead of the high end - 9 inches. School Monday is far more likely if we don't have 9 inches today. More snow days will eat into my June fishing.
Zack Hoyt Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 WE have about a half inch of ice on the ground. Not much in the trees, lines, etc. Snowing like a mad man. Roads are in rough shape. Over passes have been graveled.....but nothing else. Pushed two cars off the road and pulled one out on the way to work. Zack Hoyt OAF Contributor Flies, Lies, and Other Diversions
BlueWave Posted January 29, 2010 Author Posted January 29, 2010 Thanks for the real time updates. I am glad it looks like the power is staying on!!
