A chance meeting..

Wendell Beard is a fella I had only been learned about, until tonight.

Darren Sadler and I had the plesure of this mans company for maybe 2 hours.

Many stories transpired.. most of which will go unwritten..

Wendell has 10000+ hours of fishing spots. 1/5 on fly back in the day.

Wendell is a good friend. He's a very good fly fisherman who has spent, as you say, thousands of hours below the dam- he's part of the old guard.

He went to the Pere Marquette with me way back in the late 80's - one of my first few years of fishing in Michigan.

I'm sure you heard alot of stories and all of them 99% true. Gotta leave alittle for memory loss- he's getting old (my age).

I had the pleasure of meeting Wendell on a night trip a couple of years back. He used to fish with Doug Owens way back. Anyone ever hear how Doug is doing?
